Project Brief

Te Mātāwai, located at 139 Greys Ave, is a significant housing development completed by Kāinga Ora in Auckland. As the largest single-site housing project in the area for many years, it features three interconnected towers providing 276 residential homes. Having a Homestar 7 rating in mind meant that Mode Design had to prioritise products and companies that shared a passion for sustainable buildings.

Challenges

The project faced several challenges, including the need for a custom aluminium subframe compatible with our decking, ensuring the product's availability throughout the project's phases, and the logistics of supplying materials to a large-scale development in the heart of Auckland’s CBD.

Why BiForm was Specified

BiForm was chosen for the Te Mātāwai project due to its commitment to sustainability, with our decking made from 30% recycled plastic and 60% FSC Certified timber.
