Decking

Made from 60% FSC ® timber fibre, 30% recycled HDPE, BiForm composite decking also contains UV protectants and mould inhibiters.

After the first summer the colour will have lightened up 5 to10% and then will remain stable. Being a recycled product a  slight colour or pattern variation  from batch to batch can be expected.

BiForm composite decking is unaffected by salt or chlorinated water. Our composite decking boards are not plastic coated, so have excellent slip resistance which makes them ideal for use around spas & pools.

Joist span requirement depends on the profile.

• 130mm Solid profile requires a maximum spacing of 400mm.

• 140mm Solid profile requires a maximum spacing of 450mm.

All BiForm composite decking profiles have a 25 year limited warranty.

Most WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) products on the market are 50% plastic. BiForm composite decking has been specially formulated for Australian and New Zealand conditions. The extra wood content is more suitable for our high UV which protects the plastic and prevents it breaking down. This formula is also less prone to expansion and contraction which can be a problem with a higher plastic content. The higher timber content enhances the fire retardant properties, increases slip resistance and gives a more natural look.

In hot weather conditions, BiForm composite decking boards are a similar temperature to comparably coloured timber surface temperatures. The lighter the colour the less it will heat up. Our boards have no plastic coating, which can be much hotter underfoot.

Biform Solid Composite Decking has been tested to the NZ Building Code and has an excellent fire rating. This is why it was chosen for use on the Smokers Deck at Auckland International Airport

General cleaning with a broom or mop will suffice for most situations, however if you want to give a better clean use our BiForm Deck Cleaner and follow our Care & Maintenance Guide. We recommend six monthly cleaning to keep your Biform deck looking like new.

Yes we can provide fixings for all of our profiles to be installed over aluminium or timber subframe.

BiForm FORM 130 and FORM 140 profiles will expand and contract, with the heat and cool of the day. The movement is approximately 1mm per meter from night to midday. We offer a recommended design layout for all decks in these profiles. Following these designs and using special fixings where indicated on the design, means very minimal movement is noticed.

The FOREST BOARD profiles are much more dense, and move very little. This means they can be surface fixed and butt joined just like regular Hardwood timber.

All BiForm profiles are solid. New Zealand in particular has a high relative humidity. This excess moisture can find its way into the hollow cavities where the moisture can remain. When the boards expand with the heat of the day, the top surface heats up and expands at a different rate to the underneath surface which is cool and damp. Over time this stresses the board and can cause cracks or delaminate the plastic coating if the board has one. BiForm Solid Composite Decking has none of these issues and offers a 25 year warranty.
